The Second Amendment was part of the Bill of Rights that was added to the Constitution on December 15, 1791. This amendment protects the rights of citizens to "bear arms" or own weapons such as guns.
Why was the Second Amendment so important when it was created and what do you need to know today?
Deer hunting is a widely popular activity in Wisconsin. With the season fast approaching it is a great time to refresh on some of the less popular rules and regulations.
A very common question we hear is if it is legal to openly carry a firearm or other weapon in Wisconsin. Trying to understand and get a handle on the gun laws can be a bit tricky, especially if states and the federal government have different or overlapping laws.

In 2011, Wisconsin passed a law allowing licensed individuals to carry a concealed firearm in public. The law also allows an individual to carry a concealed firearm in his or her own dwelling or place of business or on land that he or she owns, leases, or legally occupies, even without a license.
