What is more American than celebrating the 4th of July? While you head out to grill and watch some fireworks, we thought we would tell you some pretty strange laws still in existence to discuss with your friends!
Here are a few that have made us chuckle. Happy 4th of July folks!
1. Vermont - Women must get written permission from their husbands to wear false teeth.
(That sounds fake!)
2. Minnesota - A person may not cross state lines with a duck on their head. (Unless it can
say ‘Alflac’!)
3. North Dakota - It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep with your shoes on.
(Understandable!)
4. Georgia - It's illegal to keep an ice-cream cone in your back pocket on Sundays. (But any
other day – feel free!)
5. Idaho - It's illegal to give your sweetheart a box of chocolates weighing more than 50lbs /
22kg (Who is buying that much candy!)
6. Florida - If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the meter has to be paid just as it
would if it were a vehicle. (Free parking for Giraffe’s, Gorilla’s and Lions however!)
7. Alabama - It is illegal to wear a fake moustache that causes laughter in church. (Is this an
epidemic that required government intervention!?)
8. Connecticut - a pickle cannot be considered a pickle unless it bounces. (Duh, everyone
knows that!)
9. Wisconsin - It is illegal to serve butter in prison. (Does anyone wonder why?)
10. Arizona - It is illegal for donkeys to sleep in bathtubs. (Again, Understandable!)
11. Ohio - It is illegal to get a fish drunk. 😆!
