Pedestrian safety urged as children go back to school – Know the laws!

As the school year begins this year, children across the state will be biking, walking, or riding busses to class – all of which involve vehicle traffic and potential danger.

There are an average of 580 traffic fatalities in Wisconsin every year according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.  This includes an unusually high number of pedestrians struck by motor vehicles.

This is a perfect time to refresh yourself on a few key traffic laws to help keep you and all of our children safe this year.
